Annual General Meeting 15 April 2005 – Action Bullet Points
* Look into the possibility of APHE taking credit card subscriptions.
* Hire staff to work on increasing m/ship using UCAS course data and other sources and improve communications between members, student to telephone ‘round updating data base. John to help out with this.
* Scrap joining fee and increase annual subscription to £100 – for institution, no limit on number of members eligible from each institution.
* Sponsor(s) to be sought to cover such as conference lunches etc. Neil Onslow to make enquiries.
* Sponsor(s) to be sought to provide prize(s) for photography (different categories). Judging panel invited/appointed by APHE.
* Next conference agenda needs to remain focused. Topic for next conference should be decided by September at the latest.
* Employ designer to provide more APHE and conference promotional materials.
* The executive to agree to meet at particular conferences in order to promote best practice in HE and share ideas, network, hand out promotional materials etc. Suggestions on forthcoming conferences should be disseminated through Jiscmail. For example AOP conference in June “Focus on Industry”.
* John Kippin: note forthcoming conference programme @ Sunderland & European partners. APHE to promote & support these 2 conferences and arrange reciprocal links through our websites for mutual promotion and development.
* The AOP ‘Teachers’ Day’ was discussed: Cary to promote APHE involvement in this.
* Pavel’s conference paper and P/Point slides from Andy’s and Silke’s presentation from 14 April 2005 to be published on APHE website.
* Delegates to be urged to contribute feedback from the conference via Jiscmail, Paul to up-load onto website.
* Cary to transcribe conference discussion, voice recording to be supplied by Neil Onslow.
* Mark Hall to work with Paul to develop links section on APHE website.
* Members’ suggestions for web links to be passed on to Paul.
* Association should endeavour to keep effective presence with RAE, CHEAD, ILT etc.
* Suggestions for APHE members’ group show at Arts Institute, Bournemouth; book, DVD or work etc. Conrad to progress. Show might tour, members to take proposal to their respective institution’s galleries.
* ‘Send us your Firsts’ APHE members to send examples of their student’s best works for website /publication through book, DVD etc.
* Thanks to Jaqueline Butler for her hard work making the APHE welcome at MMU. Write to the Dean, Maureen Wayman, at MMU to formally thank her for co-operation and help.
* Nominations from m/ship would be requested for deputy chair.
* APHE should support continuation of Foundation Art and Design courses.
* Cary to approach CHEAD to see whether the APHE could make input to school Photography curriculum.
